Foster Care
St. John’s has the following programs to serve youth in the NYC foster care system:
Residential Treatment Center
Our main campus in Rockaway Park in Queens is home to our Residential Treatment Center and our Non-Secure Placement program. Our residents in the Residential Treatment Center live in two family-style apartments on our main campus in the Rockaways. Services provided include group living in a therapeutic environment, individual, group, and family counseling, social services, comprehensive medical care, Preparing Youth for Adulthood services, career development, community service, and recreational opportunities. School-aged residents attend either our on-site NYC Board of Education school, PS 256Q, or a community school, depending on their educational needs.
Fair Futures
Youth benefit from the ACS Fair Futures framework, a program that delivers critical resources and guidance to support their transition to adulthood. St. John’s offers personalized support tailored to each youth’s unique needs, including: Ongoing coaching and mentorship. Educational and career readiness resources. Housing assistance and support. Celebration of milestones and goal achievements. From day one, St. John’s provides thorough case planning, Fair Futures support and dedicated aftercare services, ensuring each young man has the tools, skills, and support to thrive as an independent and empowered member of the community. By combining structured support with opportunities for personal growth, the program sets youth on a path toward a successful future.
