Residential Treatment Center
St. John’s RTC offers a structured, therapeutic environment for adolescent males (ages 12–21) in foster care, referred by the NYC Administration for Children’s Services. Youth live in family-style apartments on our Rockaways campus and receive a full range of services, including individual, group, and family counseling; social services; medical care; life skills training; career development; recreational activities; and community service opportunities. School-aged residents attend either our on-site NYC Department of Education school, P 256Q, or a local school based on their needs.
Aftercare Support
Youth discharged from our RTC receive at least six months of aftercare through the MST-FIT model, which helps families apply treatment skills at home. Therapists work closely with caregivers, are available 24/7, and provide support in both the home and community. The ITM model is also used to reinforce progress and ensure a successful transition.
